Seafood restaurant London — raw bar at Mazarine Mayfair

Seafood Restaurant in the Heart of London

Mazarine is a seafood restaurant in Mayfair built on a single conviction: that the finest produce from the sea, prepared with classical French technique, creates a dining experience unlike any other.

Our kitchen draws on the coastal traditions of Brittany, Provence, and the Atlantic shore — where seafood is not simply a menu category but a way of life. At Mazarine, this tradition finds its London home on Hanover Square, interpreted through decades of Michelin-level craft and an uncompromising commitment to provenance.

Every fish, every crustacean, every oyster arrives with a story of origin. Our role is to honour it.

The Raw Bar

Purity of Provenance

A seafood restaurant is defined by what it serves unadorned. At Mazarine, the raw bar is the purest expression of our philosophy — ingredients of such quality that they require nothing more than precision in selection and care in presentation.

Our oyster programme features Fine de Claire David Hervé and the prized Belon Sauvage 'Les Boudeuses' — two expressions of the French oyster tradition, served with a classic shallot mignonette. Alongside them: fresh Oursins de Mer — sea urchins served naturally — grilled Langoustines, and our Tarama d'Oursin de Mer, a creamy sea urchin taramasalata.

The caviar selection is curated to the highest standard. We serve exclusively Grade 1: Royal Beluski, Imperial Oscietra, and Imperial Beluga — presented on toasted Brioche au Caviar d'Aquitaine. At Mazarine, the caviar programme is not an afterthought. It is a statement of intent.

From the Sea

A Journey Along the French Coast

The menu at Mazarine reads as a journey along the French coast, each dish rooted in classical tradition and refined through the experience of our kitchen.

Sole de Douvres Classique — Dover sole, grilled or meunière — remains the benchmark of any serious fish restaurant in London. Ours is prepared with the technical precision that only decades of classical training can produce. Bar en Croûte de Sel — whole sea bass baked in a salted crust — is carved tableside, a moment of theatre grounded in Provençal tradition. The Bouillabaisse Classique honours Marseille's most celebrated dish with the depth and complexity it demands.

Beyond the grandes spécialités: Tournedos de Thon Rouge with classic peppercorn sauce, Cabillaud Confit with Basque pil-pil sauce, Rouget de Roche Grillé with artichoke barigoule, Tagliatelle de Calamar Vapeur with black truffle, and Raviole de Crabe in a lobster and lemongrass broth. Each dish reflects a different tradition of the French coastline — from the Basque Country to the Côte d'Azur.

The starters carry the same conviction: Tartare de Thon dressed with Grandjean olive oil, Coquille Saint-Jacques Grillée with roasted hazelnuts, Filet de Maquereau Tiède with sweet grapes and basil, Telline clams with Corsican bergamot and bottarga, and our Coeur de Saumon Fumé Mazarine — house-smoked salmon with preserved carrots and crème crue.

The Kitchen

Michelin-Level Craft

Behind every dish at Mazarine stands Chef Thierry Laborde — trained at Le Louis XV under Alain Ducasse and former Head Chef at Le Gavroche. Thierry's career has been defined by the sea, and his presence in our kitchen ensures that every plate meets the standard set by the finest seafood restaurants in the world.

Our commitment extends to every element of the evening. The wine list is curated to complement seafood with particular depth — from mineral Chablis and crisp Sancerre to vintage Champagne and the undiscovered whites of the Loire. Our sommeliers understand that the right pairing transforms a dish.
